The worlds biggest manufacturer of cryptocurrency mining hardware Bitmain is reportedly planning to develop mining centers in the US.
Bitmain reportedly holds 70 to 80 percent of the market in terms of Bitcoin miners and ASIC cards.
According to a local news paper Union Bulletin, Ant Creek LLC in Tumwater, Washington is building a blockchain facility at the port of Walla Walla.
According to companies-number.com, Bitmain’s co-founder Jihan Wu is the sole governing person of Ant Creek LLC.
According to the Executive Director of the Walla Walla Port Patrick Reay, the port administration has been working with Ant Creek for over 6 months. Real further stated that the goal was to create jobs and opportunities in the Walla Walla County.
Port officials estimate the new Blockchain facility to generate around 20 full time jobs and bring in around 7-10 million dollars of private investment into the operation.
The the ever growing demand bitcoin mining has placed increasing strain on the electricity suppliers however, Reay is not concerned as the Port of Walla Walla is not an electric purveyor.
This comes as China banning many cryptocurrency exchanges and with the possibility of luring power regulations for miners.
